It's a new day in D.C. Young black boys will no longer get criminal records for small amts.of marijuana.

D.C. City Council voted today to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana held for personal use. Council member Marion Barry, who is currently in a rehabilitation center receiving physical therapy, wasn’t present for the vote, but he’s glad to hear that “young black boys” (and everyone else, presumably) can now enjoy their weed while avoiding criminal records.
Done deal in DC. In a couple months, it'll be a $25 civil fine for marijuana possession in DC. No more arrests.

Barry wasn’t the only one welcoming the news.
