‘ABC is drunk!’ Affiliate starts year with Halle Berry oops [pics]

Well, an ABC affiliate got its first “oops” of 2014 out of the way pretty quickly!

To be fair, perhaps the New Year’s Eve celebrations were extended a bit?

Jim Geraghty reminds NYT of headline they can re-use for Jill Abramson story

Jill Abramson is out as executive editor of the New York Times. The New Yorker reported that one of Abramson’s conflicts with top brass at the paper started after she discovered that her pay and benefits were “considerably less” than her male predecessor.

National Review’s Jim Geraghty helped save the Times’ headline writers some extra work if they decide to do a story:

Vice President Joe Biden guests on ‘Late Night’; Seth Meyers bombs

He’s vice president, not president, so being second in line is just part of the job. Vice President Joe Biden was the second guest on the inaugural broadcast of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” late Monday night.

Judging from Twitter reaction, there’s only one thing worse than being the second guest on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” and that’s being the host of “Late Night with Seth Myers.”

Biden “almost” made a big announcement regarding 2016.

Wait a week, Joe, and maybe Seth Meyers’ job will open up.

Sarah Palin blasts ‘despicable’ MSNBC for mocking Romney grandson

As Twitchy reported, the repugnant racist progressives of pallor over at MSNBC sunk to a new low and mocked the Romneys’ adopted grandson. A loving family adopting a child? Yuk, yuk, yuk!

As Charles Payne said, this was truly “beyond the pale.”

Sarah Palin gave them the business as only she can.

From her Facebook page:

Holy unbelievable. The hypocritical leftist lamestream media should be shamed by every caring, child-loving American. It has once again reached a new low. See the article linked below. One just can’t win in their petty little games. Good thing most Americans don’t play those little games! It’s a beautiful thing the Romney family has done by embracing “the spirit of adoption.” What on earth is morebeautiful? Shame on MSNBC for mocking this.

The LSM’s pursuit of “shock ratings” is unreal. Governor Mitt Romney ran for higher office with what I believe is a servant’s heart. He was saddled with some sup-par campaign tactics. That does not make him a bad person nor does it open his children or grandchildren to attacks over a year after the fact. This latest attack from the Left is despicable.

Leftist media hounds are not expressing an opinion with this attack; they are expressing a prejudice that would never be accepted if it came from anyone else but the lib media.

You really need a conscience, yellow journalists. May your 2014 New Year’s Resolution be to find one.

Thank you, Romney family, for giving a child a family full of love.

Amen. A thousand times amen.

Vile haters couldn’t resist exposing their own moral bankruptcy, natch.

Seek help.

MSNBC and those Twitter users expose the truth: This is the Left. Tolerant and loving? Baloney.

Larry Elder: Tamera Mowry-Housley ‘not alone’; Sick lib bigotry flashbacks

As Twitchy reported, actress Tamera Mowry-Housley has been the recipient of vicious attacks due to her interracial marriage to Fox News journo Adam Housley. Most recently, she was despicably called a “white man’s whore.

Larry Elder points out that she is, sadly, not alone.

Michelle Malkin pointed that out as well in a must-read column:

Let’s face it: Mowry’s sin, in the view of her feckless detractors, is not merely that she married outside her race. It’s also that she is so open about her love for a white man who — gasp! — works for reviled Fox News. Neither of them is political, but the mere association with Bad Things (Fox, conservatives, capitalism, the tea party, Christian activism, traditional values) is an invitation for unabashed hate.

The dirty open secret is that a certain category of public figures has been routinely mocked, savaged and reviled for being partners in interracial marriages or part of loving interracial families (for a refresher, see the video clip of MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry and friends cackling at the holiday photo of Mitt Romney holding his black adopted grandson in his lap).

Dead-on. Such repugnant hate and bigotry is rampant on the Left and is particularly aimed at conservatives. Mr. Elder notes some vile flashback-quotes:

Always remember, this is the Left. Got racism? They do.

‘It’s gross!’ What are viewers sick of seeing during the #Grammys?

Amen, brother!

Nope, it’s not just you. #Grammys viewers noticed the prevalence of gum-chewing and they are quite tired of it.

Heh. As Twitchy reported, singer/rapper/producer Pharrell’s hat went viral Sunday night. But his gum-smacking caused a bit of buzz as well and not in the good way.

Who is to blame for this trend?

Curse you, @5gum!

Dem congressman: Repubs ‘real wolves of Wall Street’; Wake-up calls ensue

With the film “The Wolf of Wall Street” up for a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards, California Democrat Rep. Mark Takano had obviously been dying to make this point:

The hypocrisy of some Dems on the issue of Wall Street is amazing, as was pointed out:

On that last point, the “Best Picture” nominee that most accurately represents Obamacare might be “American Hustle.”

Thanks to Ted Cruz, Texas executes cop-killer

Protestors in Mexico, including one man who burned an American flag, weren’t able to persuade Texas to spare the life of cop-killer Edgar Tamayo. He was convicted of shooting Houston policeman Guy Gaddis in the back of the head with a gun he had snuck into Gaddis’ patrol car after being arrested in 1994.

Here’s some background on the case via BBC News:

[Tamayo] was among the four dozen Mexican nationals awaiting execution in the U.S. in 2004 when the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, ruled they had not been advised properly of their consular rights.

Former President George W. Bush ordered Texas and other states to review the cases, but the US Supreme Court ruled in favour of the state in 2008, saying the president could not effectively enforce The Hague’s ruling, leaving it to Congress to pass legislation.

Yes, that’s right. When Texas argued its sovereignty before the U.S. Supreme Court to execute the nationals in question, President George W. Bush sided with the World Court against Texas.

Not one of W’s finest moments.

It was Ted Cruz (then Texas’ Solicitor General) who  the case for Texas and won, paving the way for Tamayo’s execution yesterday.

The flag-burning incident occurred a week ago in Mexico in protest of Tamayo’s scheduled execution:

Some opponents of Tamayo’s execution, such as the American Bar Association, cited Tamayo’s low IQ as an extenuating factor:

Testing has determined that Tamayo has an IQ of approximately 67 and major limitations in adaptive functioning.

(We keep hearing that IQ is a “” concept. Apparently, it is a perfectly valid concept if the person citing it happens to be liberal.)

Many photos related to Tamayo’s execution were posted to Twitter yesterday:

Finally, after twenty years, justice has been served.

Rest in Peace, Guy Gaddis.

Hillary’s nonsensical #BringBackOurGirls tweet blasted with brutal truth

What sparked that excellent question? Oh, just Hillary Clinton’s latest foolish remark. Some background: Hundreds of schoolgirls were abducted by a jihadist terrorist group in Nigeria. Twitter users joined the worldwide protests, using the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls. :

International pressure on Nigeria is mounting with protesters taking to the streets around the world to demand the rescue of hundreds of schoolgirls abducted by the jihadist terrorist group Boko Haram.

From Los Angeles to London, demonstrators carried posters reading #BringBackOurGirls — a campaign that began on Twitter following the mass abduction of the girls in April — and chanted “Bring them home!,” “Not for sale!” and “African lives matter!”

Hillary Clinton’s contribution?

Um, what? As opposed to the good reasons to target innocent girls? Hey, never let a tragedy go to waste, right Hillary? Even if it means issuing nonsensical statements.

A question for Hillary:

And this Twitter user brings it all home with brutal truth:

But, you know, “what difference does it make?”
